Favorite Christmas Music

My Christmas music list is pretty eclectic. It all started with a vinyl record my Dad brought home, Twas the Night Before Christmas by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians. My brother and sister and I played this album non stop as we decorated the tree each year. Someday they will release it on CD and I will feel my Christmas music collection is complete. Until then all Christmas music in our house is in some weird way or another compared with Fred Waring. What are some of your favorites?

"Twas the Night Before Christmas"

Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanian’s awesome Christmas album

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 TV version)

The Piano Guys “O Come, Emmanuel”

GRP Christmas Collection, Vol. 3

Wynton Marsalis Crescent City Christmas Card

Mambo Santa Mambo

Angel Voices by the Liberia Boys Choir

*I do realize this is not a food post, but it’s important information for another post I’m writing. Stay tuned.

Love the album cover! Try searching for it on iTunes for digital download. My big sister got Johnny Mathis’ Christmas album on 8 track. Think it was called, “Winter Wonderland”. That’s the sound of Christmas for us. Love your blog…

    • Thanks for the tip Vickie! For someone who spends a fair amount of time on the internet I can be astonishingly prehistoric some days. I wasn’t able to find the whole album as a download but I was able to find some of my favorite songs, including Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The cookie baking will be the better for my new digital tunes.

My favorite is Sheryl Crow’s “Home for Christmas” that my friend Annette gave me a while back. And it isn’t ’cause I’m from Memphis, but don’t forget Elvis’s Christmas Album!
